New Balance Helps to Save Degraded N95 Masks 5/6/20

During the first week of May 2020, we became aware that hundreds of our N95 Masks had degraded straps that rendered them unusable. After a news story showing how New Balance had helped out Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston save 50,000 donated masks with a similar problem, it was realized that those same masks were the ones we had found in our inventory. Chief Blanchard reached out to Executive Vice President David Wheeler, who was interviewed during the story, and within an hour he offered New Balance’s help. The masks were delivered to their Lawrence, Massachusetts factory for repairs which were completed in only one day. The masks were delivered back to Hanover Fire by Hanover Resident and New Balance Director of Global Communications Courtney Finnegan. Many thanks to Dave, Courtney and all the New Balance employees who were able to help us out!
