AED Loaner Program

Zoll AEDThe Hanover Fire Department is excited to offer a lifesaving program to our residents. The AED Loaner Program allows members of the community to “loan” an automated external defibrillator (AED) from the fire department at no cost for use at events where they can be utilized by the public while emergency services are on the way.

An automated external defibrillator is a compact, portable, and self-contained unit that can be easily accessed in a critical situation. AEDs require only rudimentary instructions for operation and, when combined with effective CPR, can increase the chances of survival from sudden cardiac arrest by nearly 70% if used within the first three minutes of an incident.

This program is available for Hanover Residents who are hosting group events within the community.

To arrange for an AED at your event, please complete the following information and a member of our team will contact you. Each request will be assessed based on the availability of units.

In exchange for participation in the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Loaner Program managed by the Town of Hanover Fire Department (HFD) and use of any equipment provided, I, identified above, enter into this “Release” and hereby stipulate and agree to as follows:

  1. I agree to observe and obey all terms and conditions, posted rules, regulations, and warnings, and further agree to follow any oral instructions or directions given by HFD, or the employees, representatives, or agents of the organization with regards to the use of the AED, any associated equipment and/or supplies that are provided by HFD as part of this program.
  2. I represent that I have a current CPR/AED Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  3. I recognize that there are certain inherent risks associated with the described activity/equipment, and I assume full responsibility for such risks, including but not limited to personal injury to myself or others.

This obligation shall extend to all claims, damages, and demands as well as costs of defense.
  5. 8. I agree and acknowledge that I entered into this waiver freely and voluntarily and had time to review it and all other forms and terms and conditions before signing.
  9. I agree to defend and indemnify the Town of Hanover, including its officials, agents, employees, and volunteers (“Indemnified Parties”), from and against any and all liabilities, obligations, claims, damages, penalties, causes of action, costs, interest and expenses, including but not limited to attorney’s fees, which the indemnified parties may become obligated or suffer by reason of accident, bodily injury, death of person, property damage and/or loss, and/or personal injury (libel, slander, etc.), arising out of my temporary possession, storage, transport, use and/or operation of the AED.
  10. I agree to provide a check in the amount of $1,000.00 to act as a security deposit at the time of AED pick-up. This check will be made out to the “Town of Hanover” and will be returned upon return of the AED.
