Circuit Street Fire

At approximately 1:25pm on May 28, 2020, the Hanover Fire Department received a 911 call reporting smoke in the area of Wearguard Drive off Hanover Street, Route 139 . Firefighters responded to investigate. Arriving first on the scene was Chief Blanchard who found the smoke coming from a commercial building adjacent to Wearguard Drive on Circuit Street. Further investigation found heavy smoke coming from a manufacturing occupancy located at 347 Circuit Street. Box 42 was struck and a full 1st Alarm Assignment was dispatched. Crews entered the building to find a fire within an air handling system. A Working Fire Assignment was requested bringing an Engine from Rockland to the scene.

Firefighters utilized hose lines to extinguish the fire. Crews removed several large industrial filtering systems that had caught fire. There was no spread to the structure however the large manufacturing area inside the building sustain extensive smoke damage. Firefighters used fans to ventilate the hazardous smoke from the building.

National Grid responded to the scene to secure electricity and Hanover Inspectional Services responded to ensure the building was safe to reoccupy.

The Hanson Fire Department provided station coverage during the incident.

Firefighters cleared at 4:36pm.
