Hanover Fire Department Awarded MEMA Emergency Management Performance Grant 2/19/23

The Hanover Fire Department is pleased to announce that it has been awarded $4,600 through the MEMA Emergency Management Performance Grant. These funds were used to make technological upgrades to Hanover Fire Headquarters. The department utilized these funds to purchase one smart board and two monitors for our conference room and Deputy Chief office. The monitors are equipped with software that displays a weather radar, on-duty staffing, call information, and department messages.

This will help assist the duty crew and chief officers with call response decision-making. The smart board will be utilized during department meetings and training. It will also be used during large-scale incidents and storms to help track pending calls, weather patterns, road closures, and other storm-related information.

With these upgrades, we will continue to maintain and improve our StormReady designation from the National Weather Service. Thank you to Firefighter/Paramedic Jonathan Pelletier for managing this grant.
