Hanover Fire Department Announces New Fire Captain 3/21/23

Rich Salvucci promoted to the rank of Fire Captain

The Hanover Fire Department is pleased to announce the promotion of Firefighter/Paramedic Rich Salvucci to the rank of Fire Captain. Captain Salvucci joined the Department as an on-call firefighter assigned to Station 2 on Broadway in 1990. He was hired as one of the Town’s first full-time firefighter/paramedic in 1999. During his career, Captain Salvucci spent time in leadership roles as both a Call Lieutenant and Acting Captain. Captain Salvucci also has extensive experience working as an EMT and Paramedic for various private EMS Services and has provided emergency medical services in the Town’s of Plymouth, Middleborough, and Braintree.

Captain Salvucci has been the Hanover Fire Department’s EMS Coordinator since 2016. In this role, Captain Salvucci is responsible for various aspects of the Department’s ability to deliver effective and efficient emergency medical services, including, but not limited to, quality assurance and quality improvement, ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and hospital requirements, tracking provider recertifications, developing and implementing policies and procedures dealing with the provision of emergency medical services, managing the EMS related budget expenses and inventory and much more.

Captain Salvucci has an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science and is a certified Fire Instructor and Fire Officer. Rich is also a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician and has assisted with the Department’s Fire and Life Safety Education Program.

Captain Salvucci has been assigned the role of Fire Prevention Captain and will utilize the call sign “C-8.”
