Deputy Chief Jason Cavallaro to Lead Hanover Fire Department 12/28/21

The Town of Hanover is pleased to announce the promotion of Deputy Fire Chief Jason Cavallaro to Fire Chief of the Hanover Fire Department, effective January 1, 2022.

Jason grew up in Hanover, graduated from Hanover High School, and currently resides in the community with his wife Michelle and their children Gianna, Alyssa, Vincent, and Joseph.

“Chief” Cavallaro began his career as a Hanover call firefighter in 2001, prior to his full-time work as a firefighter/paramedic in 2005.  He was promoted to the rank of Captain in 2011 and has been serving as Deputy Chief since 2016.  He currently serves as a Hazmat Technician with the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services Hazardous Materials Response Team and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Metropolitan Boston Emergency Medical Services Council.  Cavallaro is a nationally registered paramedic and holds numerous fire, emergency medical services, and emergency management certifications.  In addition to his time in the fire service, Cavallaro has worked in both private and hospital-based emergency medical services.

As a graduate of Hanover High School, Jason holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Emergency Management, a Bachelor's in Fire Science Management, and an Associates in Fire Science Technology and Paramedic Science.  Cavallaro is also a graduate of the Edward J. Collins Center for Public Management Chief Fire Officer Management Program.

He is proud to call Hanover his home and looks forward to leading the truly dedicated and professional Hanover firefighters into the future.
