About the Town Manager

Mr. Colangelo has been Hanover’s Town Manager since April 2018.  Prior to his arrival in Hanover, he accumulated over 13 years of municipal management experience as an Assistant Town Manager, Town Administrator, and Town Manager.

Joe also taught local government at the University of Vermont for three years and has served on a variety of state and national level committees and boards.  He has been recognized as a Credentialed Manager (CM) from the International City/County Manager’s Association (ICMA), and is a graduate of the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, University at Albany, and Hunter College, City University of New York.

Joe and his family live in Hanover and are actively involved in a wide array of community activities.
