WNV-Positive Mosquito Samples Identified in Hanover

TrailOn September 12, 2023, the Town of Hanover was notified that West Nile Virus-positive mosquito sample(s) were found in Hanover.

The Town of Hanover, in conjunction with Plymouth County Mosquito Control, is taking proactive measures by spraying our public fields and recreational spaces.

Recommendations for prevention include the use of mosquito repellent with an EPA-registered ingredient according to the directions on the label, wearing clothing to reduce exposed skin when weather permits, draining standing water to prevent mosquito breeding, repairing your window screens to keep mosquitoes out of your home, and observing peak mosquito activity at dusk and dawn.
