Town of Hanover West Nile Virus Update 8/23/23

On August 23, 2023, the Hanover Health Office was notified that WNV-positive mosquito sample(s) were found in the following cities and towns: South Hadley, East Longmeadow, West Springfield, Halifax, Pembroke, Kingston, Brookline, Carver, Springfield, and Easton.
At this time, West Nile Virus has not been detected in Hanover, Massachusetts.
Residents are encouraged to use mosquito repellents with an EPA-registered active ingredient and observe peak mosquito activity at dusk and dawn.
