Town Tax Payment Options during the COVID-19 State of Emergency 3/27/20

The Town of Hanover appreciates the severity of the COVID-19 State of Emergency we are all facing together as a community, and wants to provide the best service possible while respecting social distancing protocols.

The Town of Hanover does not have the ability, absent state legislative change, to extend the deadline for any tax payments.

There are several payment options available for residents to pay their taxes without physically visiting Town Hall:

  • Payments may be made online at: https://www.hanover-ma.gov/treasurer-collector. Please keep in mind that the bank charges a fee based on the type of payment and amount being processed. Payments from a resident’s bank account are charged $.25 per transaction by UniBank. Payments made by debit or credit card are charged a fee based on the transaction amount. All fees for online payments are charged by the bank; the Town has no control over fees assessed by the bank.

Online payment processing is available as long as the payment is made on or before the due date. All late payments should be mailed to the Town of Hanover Collector's Office at 550 Hanover Street Suite 31, Hanover MA 02339.
  • Payment in the form of a check may be mailed with a payment coupon and enclosed envelope to the Town’s lockbox processor.
  • Payments in the form of a check may be mailed to: Town of Hanover Collector's Office, 550 Hanover Street Suite 31, Hanover MA 02339.
  • Payments may also be made a resident’s individual bank by processing a payment via an E-Check (electronic check) to the Town of Hanover Collector's Office at 550 Hanover Street Suite 31, Hanover MA 02339.

The Town cannot accept payments over the telephone.

Thank you for considering one of the options above as we all work together during this difficult time.
