  • The Hanover Police Department announces the following temporary operational changes:
  • The Community Room will be closed to the public.
  • There will be no appointments for car seat installations.
  • Public record requests should be made via email records@hanover-ma.gov or mailed to 129 Rockland Street, Hanover, MA 02339.
  • Firearms License Applications/ Renewals via email firearms@hanover-ma.gov these applications will reviewed by officers and applicants will be contacted to complete upon return to normal operations.
  • No applications for Solicitation Permits will be accepted.
  • Residents are requested to call the non-emergency number 781-826-3231 for matters that may be handled via a phone call. Please call 911 for any type of emergency.
  • Tow releases and walk-in reports will be handled according to the recommendations put forward by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health social distancing guidelines.
  • The prescription return box in the outer lobby remains open and available to residents.
  • The Hanover Police Department will make a public announcement upon the release of the current Local Emergency Declaration and a return to previous procedures.

March 13, 2020

  • The Hanover Police Department is canceling all firearm permit appointments/walk in requests until April 1, 2020. Please do not bring any new or renewal applications to the station until then. We will continue to process those applications that have been submitted. If you have any questions please email us at firearms@hanover-ma.gov.
