The Last Day to Change Your Party or Register to Vote is August 27, 2022

Register Online, by Mail, or In Person

Hanover Town Clerk Catherine Harder-Bernier announced that Saturday, August 27, 2022, is the last day to register to vote or change your party for the Tuesday, September 6, 2022, State Primary. The Hanover Town Clerk’s/Registrar’s Office will be open until 5:00 pm on August 27th, and online registration will be available until 11:59 pm that night. Please come to the Town Clerk’s/Registrar’s side entrance lower level door if you need to register in person. 

Any Hanover citizen who will be eighteen on or before September 6th is encouraged to register to vote. Once registered, individuals will be eligible to vote in all elections thereafter. Further, residents may “pre-register” to vote if they are age 16 or 17, but they will not be eligible to vote until they turn 18.

Citizens of Hanover may conveniently register to vote or change their party status online, by mail, or in person. Register online by going to the Massachusetts Online Voter Registration System.

Register by Mail

If residents choose to register by mail they should download the Massachusetts Mail-In Voter Registration Form and mail the completed form to the Hanover Town Clerk’s Office.

Register In Person

If voters wish to register to vote in person, they may do so at two convenient locations:

  • Hanover Town Hall
  • Registry of Motor Vehicles.

“New residents and high school students are strongly encouraged to register to vote. It is the cornerstone of our democracy!” said Town Clerk Catherine Harder-Bernier. “Additionally, with some hotly contested primary races, voters may wish to change their party registration in order to pull a different ballot at this election. Now is the time to do so!” she continued.
