Early Voting, Important Dates, and Election Day Information 8/23/22

Hanover Town Clerk Catherine Harder-Bernier announced that in-person Early Voting (EV) in advance of the September 6, 2022, Primary Election begins this Saturday, August 27th at 10:00 am in the large hearing room on the first floor of Hanover Town Hall, located at 550 Hanover Street. On Saturday, in-person Early Voting goes until 4:00 pm.

In-person Early Voting is open to anyone without an excuse. This new permanent change to the law went into effect this summer and applies to all State Primaries and State Elections, which means it will be available to you in October for the November State Election, too.

In-Person Early Voting

In addition to Saturday, the other dates and times for in-person EV prior to the September Primary are as follows:

  • Monday, August 29th, Tuesday, August 30th, and Thursday, September 1st, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
  • Wednesday, August 31st, from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm.
  • Friday, September 2nd, from 8:30 am to 12 noon.

All of these sessions will be held in the first-floor hearing room of Hanover Town Hall.

Important Dates

Some other important dates and times for your calendar:

  • The last day to change your party or register to vote in the Town Clerk's Office is Saturday, August 27th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • The last day for the Town Clerk's Office to RECEIVE your Vote by Mail APPLICATION is Monday, August 29th by 5:00 pm.
  • The last day for the Town Clerk's Office to RECEIVE your Vote by Mail BALLOT is Tuesday, September 6th, at 8:00 pm. Ballots may be returned to the ballot box outside of Hanover Town Hall 24/7.

Election Day

Election Day will be held at Hanover High School, 287 Cedar Street, on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Polls are open from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm.
