Hanover Board of Selectmen Renames Themselves to Selectboard 7/20/21

At the request of Corrine Crissinger, rising 9th grader at the South Shore Technical High School, the Hanover Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to change the name "Board of Selectmen" to "Selectboard" at their July 19, 2021, meeting.
As part of Corrine's Social Studies class, taught by Mrs. Ireland at the Hanover Middle School, she advocated for this change while meeting with local and state government officials over Zoom.
Due to her advocacy, the Board voted to begin referring to themselves as the Selectboard and to start the process for a formal name change, which will need Town Meeting approval for edits to the Town bylaws and the Town Manager Act.
