The original scope of this project along with the request for Zoning Board of Appeals approval is for six total fields, three (3) baseball and three (3) softball. Will the $500,000 be enough for this to happen?

The original scope was for all six baseball and softball fields to have LED athletic field lighting installed. That scope has been reduced to what is hopefully considered a more reasonable one baseball and one softball field lighting plan. Unless there are significant unforeseen cost increases, the $500,000 will be enough to complete this more narrowed-scope project.  The current scope of the project is not a “phased approach.” If there is a desire or need for additional lighting in the future, that proposal can be vetted on the merits at that time.

The Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) is deciding on a plan that includes the original project scope to ensure that future lighting expansion, if necessary or desired, can be considered without having to go before the ZBA again.
