Register to Vote by Friday, April 24, 2026, for the May Annual Town Meeting and Annual Town Election

The deadline to register to vote for the 2026 Hanover Annual Town Meeting and the Annual Town Election is Friday, April 24, 2026. In Hanover, there is only one date to register for both events.
If you have a valid Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles identification, you may register to vote online.
If you do not have an ID, you may complete a mail-in voter registration form. You may also register in person at the Town Clerk’s Office or the Registrar’s Office. Please call ahead to schedule an appointment. Additionally, voter registration is available at any Registry of Motor Vehicles office.
Qualifications to Vote
In Hanover, a voter must meet the following qualifications to register to vote:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be a Hanover resident.
- Must be at least 16 years old and understand that they must be 18 years old to be eligible to vote.
- Not under guardianship, which prohibits registering to vote.
- Not temporarily or permanently disqualified by law from voting because of corrupt practices in respect to elections.
- Not currently incarcerated for a felony conviction.
