Board and Committee Openings

Volunteer Opportunities

The Select Board welcomes residents who have an interest in serving on the Town’s various Committees/Boards. Please complete our Talent Bank Application.

Letters of interest will be forwarded to the appropriate appointing authority. Please e-mail or call the Board or Committee's respective contact if you would like more information on a vacancy prior to submitting an application.

Current Select Board Appointment Vacancies

Board of Trust Fund Commissioners

  • Appointed by the Select Board.
  • Composed of three members with one year terms. 
  • Meeting throughout the year on an as needed basis.
  • Current openings: 2 Members.

Council on Aging Advisory Board

  • Appointed by the Select Board.
  • Composed of seven members with one year terms. 
  • Meeting monthly.
  • Current openings: 1 Member.

Hanover Historical Commission

  • Appointed by the Select Board.
  • Charged with identifying and supporting the preservation of historic sites in the Town of Hanover.
  • Composed of five members, including a Realtor, an Architect and three Citizens at Large with one year terms. 
  • Meetings monthly but may meet more than once a month as needed.
  • Current openings: 1 Citizen at Large Member

Master Plan Implementation Committee

  • 2 Citizen At Large Members Appointed by the Select Board.
  • This Committee meets as necessary throughout the year.
  • Current openings: 2 Citizen at Large Members

MBTA Advisory Board

  • Appointed by the Select Board.
  • The MBTA  Advisory Board plays a key role in the allocation of federal funds for MBTA capital-related projects.
  • Current openings: 1 Hanover Representative

Organic Fertilizers and Herbicides Study Committee

Route 139 Action Committee

  • Appointed by the Select Board.
  • This Seven Member Committee typically meets once a month.
  • Current openings: 2 Members

Taxation Aid Committee

  • Appointed by the Select Board.
  • Composed of the Chair of the Board of Assessors, the Town Treasurer, and three Citizens at Large appointed by the Select Board
  • Meetings as needed throughout the year
