Hanover Emergency Management Agency Required Closures 3/19/20

Closures Effective March 23, 2020

Hanover Emergency Agency required closures, effective March 23, 2020:

All childcare facilities

We have made an exemption for first responder families and medical care workers. They must maintain class sizes of 20 or less, thoroughly sanitized, and not allow new students. Only the children and the childcare staff may enter the building. Pick up and drop off of children must be made at the door or outside.

All personal care services

Any business which requires one person to touch another shall close. This includes hairdressers, nail salons, massage, and facial care. These services cannot maintain social distancing.

All gyms, health clubs, workout facilities, tanning and spraying facilities

Persons in these facilities are often sweating and breathing hard. This promotes contamination from bodily fluids and is very difficult to sanitize effectively between clients.

Recommendations

All business open to the public of 5,000 square feet or less must maintain 10 or fewer persons within the establishment while maintaining social distancing (6 feet or more). All surfaces must be cleaned and sanitized regularly. Larger "box" stores may have more persons but are still encouraged to maintain distancing.

Restaurants remain takeout only.
