Forge Pond Park

Forge Pond Park

The Town of Hanover is excited to announce that after a long-standing partnership with The Office of Family and Community Engagement (FACE), the recreation department is merging to create a year-round, full-service organization with a single mission to serve our students, families, and the Hanover community. The opportunities this merger provides will allow FACE to evolve in new ways, enhancing the quality of existing programs and services while fostering partnerships that will support the future growth needed to meet the changing needs of our families and community.

For all recreation-related services and questions, please visit the Office of Family and Community Engagement. Parks and field permitting will remain under the purview of the Department of Community Services.

Something for Everyone

Forge Pond Park has something for everyone! From walking to athletic events Forge Pond Park is used regularly by the members in our community. This is the Town of Hanover's first tournament-based facility with three baseball fields, three softball fields, three multi-use fields, and a concession stand. As well as the athletic fields miles of walking trails surround the property! There are both paved walking trails and trails throughout the woods. The Park hours vary from season to season. Please check the message board on the right-hand side of the park driveway and our website for updated hours. This property falls under the jurisdiction of the Parks and Recreation Committee and the Open Space Committee.

About the Park

Forge Pond Park, located at 253 King Street is a premier 40-acre, multi-field athletic complex. The property borders Forge Pond to the east, and a cranberry bog is located nearby to the northwest.

The facility was configured to preserve the aesthetics of this impressive site. Fenced fields and walking trails are located along the periphery, freeing up the central area and creating an open expansive green space.

As you enter the complex along the western border, you come upon three Little League fields with the amenities; player dugouts, remote controlled solar powered scoreboards, batting cages, backstops, foul poles, and bleachers.

In the northwest corner of the site, you will find a softball facility. These three fields have the same features as the Little League fields. A large open field is located in the heart of the property. Within this area, several rectangular fields can be configured to accommodate different (lacrosse, soccer, and football) sports. This area could also be used as a large fairground or event tent area.

The Park Pavilion is located next to the multipurpose field. The pavilion has a concession area with picnic tables, restaurants, a mechanical room for wells/irrigation, and storage rooms.

Interested in hosting a tournament, camp, or another activity?  We have message boards at Forge Pond Park, if you are a  local organization that would like to advertise an event/notice on the message boards please email tammy.murray@hanover-ma.gov for the Committee to approve your request.
