Forge Pond Park Lighting Project

The Hanover Parks and Recreation Committee has proposed a plan to install LED athletic lighting at the Forge Pond Park baseball and softball fields. This project has been in development since 2021 when it became evident that field usage and sports participation levels supported the need to identify options to increase field availability during in-season play. This project is aligned with the Hanover Master Plan, specifically, Goal 4 “Maintain and improve public access to conservation parcels and their recreation use,” and Goal 6, Strategy 1 “…repair and update existing sports fields.” These goals were deemed important to 92% of the respondents during the Master Plan development process. Additionally, this project will enhance the development of skills and social values important to our community and will extend outdoor recreational usage opportunities for all Hanover residents.
