Tropical Storm Henri Update 8/20/21

Tropical Storm Henri

Tropical Storm Henri is forecast to strengthen into a hurricane as it heads north toward southern New England this weekend. Hurricane Watches and Storm Surge Watches are in effect on the south coast. A watch means conditions are possible. There remains a great deal of uncertainty with regard to Henri's track which will have a huge impact on who in the northeast sees the strong winds, heavy rain, and storm surge.

Currently, Henri is expected to make landfall on Sunday morning, August 22, 2021.

Damaging winds, flooding rains, and storm surges are all possible. Residents are strongly urged to shelter in place during the storm and to stay off roadways.

If you lose power, please notify National Grid to ensure that your outage is reported or call 800-465-1212. To report a downed power line, stay away and call 911. Visit hanover-ma.gov/poweroutages for live updates and additional resources.
