Massachusetts Department of Fire Services 31st Annual Firefighter of the Year Awards

Hanover Fire Department firefighters were honored as part of the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services 31st annual Firefighter of the Year Awards on March 8, 2021. Fire Chief Jeffrey Blanchard nominated 8 members of the department for creating and conducting a COVID-19 testing program for the community’s most vulnerable populations in the early days of the pandemic.
During the virtual ceremony, the Massachusetts Fire Fighter of the Year Norman Knight Award was presented to Deputy Chief Jason Cavallaro, Captain Fred Freeman, FF/EMT-P Shayne Blakeman, FF/EMT-P Joseph Centeio, FF/EMT-P Joseph Pacella, FF/EMT-P Sebastian Rivas, FF/EMT-P Richard Salvucci, and FF/EMT-P Kyle Stetler.
Members of the Department were congratulated and recognized at the March 15, 2021 Board of Selectmen's meeting.
