Town Clerk

In Massachusetts, the Town Clerk is the chief election official of the town and the keeper of permanent and vital records. The Clerk's Office performs administrative and supervisory work in connection with the maintenance of official municipal records, the issuing of various licenses and official documents, the management of the Town Census, and the direction of election activities.

The Town Clerk's Office accepts cash or check only, but you are able to use a credit or debit card (subject to small processing fees) in the Collector's Office and bring your receipt to the Town Clerk's Office to show proof of payment.

The office staff is available during Town Hall hours. Please be advised that the office staff can issue birth and death certificates. Currently, all marriage licenses need to be issued by the Town Clerk. You may call ahead to ensure availability of the Town Clerk so that we may better serve you.
