Town of Hanover Emergency Declaration 3/13/20

WHEREAS, a sudden, generally unexpected occurrence of circumstances demanding public action has arisen within the Town of Hanover; and

WHEREAS, The Town Manager of the Town of Hanover, Massachusetts, upon advice from the Fire Chief/Director of Emergency Management, or their designees, have determined that the incident poses a present, reasonable and imminent danger to public health, safety, or general welfare of the people of Town of Hanover or their property so that it has become necessary for the Director to utilize and coordinate the services, equipment, supplies, and facilities of existing departments, offices, and agencies or the community for the purposes of emergency management and emergency functions; and

WHEREAS, the people of the community of Town of Hanover should be able to depend upon guidance from their Chief Municipal Official,

NOW THEREFORE, I, Joseph Nicholas Colangelo, Town Manager of the community of Town of Hanover, Massachusetts, hereby declare that as of March 13, 2020, at 10:00 AM a State of Emergency exists in the community of Town of Hanover. This Declaration of Emergency shall remain in effect until notice is given, pursuant to my judgment that the State of Emergency no longer exists.

Additional Information

The Town of Hanover has initiated our Local Emergency Operations Plan. At this time, the Town of Hanover has no presumed or confirmed cases of COVID-19.  This declaration enables us to muster the full efforts of all Town departments and agencies in an effort to respond in a proactive and unified manor. 

Essential services such as the Transfer Station, Water, Police, and Fire will continue without interruption. The public health and safety of our residents will remain our number one priority.
