National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, April 22, 2023
The Hanover Board of Health and the Hanover Police Department in cooperation with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency is coordinating a nationwide one-day event to take back unwanted medications on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Hanover Council on Aging, located at 665 Center Street in Hanover, Massachusetts, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
Please note that this event will begin at 10:00 AM and end at 1:00 PM (Town of Hanover schedule).

Year-Round Drop-Off Locations
Additionally, the Hanover Police Department's MedReturn Collection Box is a safe prescription drug disposal system that is used to collect unwanted, expired, over-the-counter, or unused household prescription medications. The MedReturn Collection Box is located in the lobby of the police station, which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
If you need to dispose of needles, the Hanover Fire Department has an easy-to-use drop box available in the lobby of Hanover Fire Headquarters, located at 32 Center Street.
