Leash Bylaw

The Town of Hanover’s General Bylaws Section 6-10 Animal Control Bylaw (B) Section 3, describes the Town of Hanover leash law, and all dogs are required to be leashed at all times while on sidewalks, public ways and town-owned property. The Town has recently received several complaints about dogs being unleashed and running free at Forge Pond Park and other town-owned land. In an effort to enforce this Bylaw, the dog officer will be out this weekend patrolling Forge Pond Park and other town-owned land and will be ticketing anyone found to be violating this Bylaw. Please make sure to keep your dog on a leash to ensure the safe enjoyment of our recreational land for everyone.
