Hanover Visiting Nurse Week 2020

A Proclamation

TO: The Citizens of the Town of Hanover

WHEREAS: The Hanover VNA Community Foundation and the Hanover VNA, which has existed for over 90 years in the Town of Hanover, calls upon the citizens of Hanover to generously support the many services provided for the benefit of all residents who require them; and

WHEREAS: The Hanover VNA Community Foundation is composed of a dedicated group of volunteers who work closely with the Hanover Visiting Nurses and other organizations in Hanover; and

WHEREAS: They support the Hanover School System by awarding scholarships to Hanover High School graduates planning careers in nursing and other allied health professions, continue to support the Hanover Parks and Recreation Department by funding camperships for Hanover children; and

WHEREAS: The Hanover Visiting Nurses provide care for hospital patients returning home, as well as caring for chronic disease patients, advise and instruct in the use and care of equipment and assist in doctor ordered care. Clinics are provided to monitor Blood Pressure, screen for Diabetes and oversee Wellness for all patients. Flu clinics are also conducted. The staff serves on various boards in the community and assist at the Annual Health Fair; and

WHEREAS: The Hanover VNA and the Hanover VNA Community Foundation provide all of the aforesaid services which are available to all Hanover citizens.

The Annual Fund Drive, which is the primary source of income for the Hanover VNA Community Foundation helps support these many endeavors;

THEREFORE: We, the Selectmen of the Town of Hanover, do hereby proclaim October 4^th through October 10^th, 2020, as

HANOVER VISITING NURSE WEEK

The Annual Fund Drive will be conducted through the mail during the aforesaid time and we call upon all Hanover citizens to generously support the Hanover VNA Community Foundation in all their endeavors so that its services may continue for all the citizens of Hanover.
