NEWS RELEASES

 

 

The following events will be happening in the Department of Public Works in Hanover within the next few weeks:

 

  • Household Hazardous Waste Day will be held on Saturday, April 29th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hanover Transfer Station.Residents may bring their household hazardous waste including oil-based paints, polishes, flammable liquids, pesticides, fertilizers, etc. to the Transfer Station during these hours.Stickers on vehicles will be required.To check whether a specific product will be accepted, please call the DPW at 781-826-3189 or visit the Hanover DPW website, www.hanoverdpw.org

     

  • The Annual Town Clean-Up Week will be held Monday, May 1st  through Friday, May 5th.   Residents may call the DPW at 781-826-3189 the week prior to Clean-Up Week to make arrangements for curbside pickup for large appliances, furniture, and pieces that will not fit in an automobile.  No brush, landscaping ties, or motor vehicles are included.  Residents will be required to prepay at the DPW office for any items they would like picked up that have a charge under the Transfer Station Fee structure.  As in the past the DPW will pick up large bulky items, but for items that have a fee only after prepayment.

 

  • Brush is accepted at the Ames Way Highway Garage weekdays from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM.  Additionally weekend hours will be available every Saturday from April 1st through November 25th from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. 

 

  • The Board of Health is sponsoring an unwanted medication drop-off even on Saturday, April 29th between the hours of 10:00 am 2:00 pm at the Hanover Senior Center, 665 Center Street, Hanover.  Please visit the town website www.hanover-ma.gov for details.
