Hanover’s Veterans Behavioral and Mental Health Initiative 2/24/22

The Town of Hanover is announcing a new program: Hanover’s Veterans Behavioral and Mental Health Initiative. This new and innovative community-based service will provide direct, pro-active, routine communication, and check-ins to Hanover veterans and their families by licensed mental health experts who will be working for the Town.

This program, financed by a portion of Hanover’s American Rescue Plan Act funds, will be 100% free to Hanover Veterans and their families, regardless of service or discharge status.

Hanover’s Veterans Service Officer, James Crosby, has made it a priority to highlight the unmet needs and inadequate services available to veterans across the country. This is why the Town of Hanover has decided to support Hanover veterans and their families as they work through any emotional and psychological trauma they endure as a result of military service to our Nation.

Additional information will be provided about this endeavor at the February 28, 2022, Select Board meeting and in the coming days and weeks ahead.

For questions and to learn more about the program and services offered, please contact Hanover Community Services Director, Tammy Murray, at tammy.murray@hanover-ma.gov and/or Hanover Veterans Services Officer, James Crosby, at james.crosby@hanover-ma.gov.
