Fire Flow Test - December 9, 2019

December 9, 2019, 8:00 PM

A fire flow test will be conducted on December 9, 2019 at approximately 8:00 pm in the vicinity of 1456 Hanover Street.

Fire flow tests are conducted primarily to determine the rate of flow available for fire-fighting purposes at a given location in the water distribution system.  During the fire flow test, residents in the area may experience a drop in water pressure and/or dirty water from dislodged sediments in the pipes.  It is recommended you do not use the water or do laundry for two hours after noticing this discoloration.  After you have waited, run your cold water tap (without the aerator screen) for five to ten minutes.  This should remove any sediment from inside your service.  If the water does not clear after two hours, please notify the Hanover Communications Center at 781-826-2335, ext. 0 between the hours of 4:00 pm and 8:00 am or notify the DPW directly at 781-826-3189 during normal business hours (between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm).
