The data cabling upgrade expands data cabling throughout various Town buildings (the Middle School, Cedar School, Police Headquarters, and Fire Headquarters) to support Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) phone service, WiFi expansion, and other data needs. Appropriation of funds was approved in Article 30 of the May 2019 Town Meeting.
Phone System Upgrade
As part of a town-wide initiate to upgrade and unify technology in our buildings, we have begun the installation of VOIP phone systems at Cedar Elementary School and Hanover Middle School. This process is another significant step in the completion of phone enhancements across the school district and town. Previous installations include all town offices, the Salmond School building, and Center Elementary School. The upgrade offers increased features, flexibility, many security benefits, and improved functionality. The funds for this project were approved in Articles 30 and 32 of the May 2019 Town Meeting.
Expanded and upgraded WiFi access at the High School and Middle School will support standardized online assessments (MCAS) as well as 21st century learning. Appropriation of funds was approved in Article 32 of the May 2019 Town Meeting.
