SGT Michael Chesna Services: Road Closures & Detours

The Town of Hanover is mourning the tragic death of Sergeant Michael Chesna. The wake and funeral services for Sgt. Chesna are scheduled to take place at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church 392 Hanover Street on Thursday July 19, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and the funeral mass will be at 11:00 AM Friday July 20. Traffic will be extremely heavy at the time leading up to and after the conclusion of both services.
There will also be the following road closures:
- Thursday July 19 beginning at 12:00 Noon, Hanover Street will be closed and detoured between Silver Street and Rockland Street. Access to any streets in this area will be limited to emergency response vehicles only. This detour is expected to remain in effect until 5:30 PM.
- Friday July 20 beginning at 9:00 AM Hanover Street will be closed and detoured between Silver Street and Rockland Street. Access to any streets in this area will be limited to emergency response vehicles only. This detour is expected to remain in effect until 2:00 PM.
Public safety officials will make every effort to minimize the road closures.
When the road is opened traffic will remain heavy.
