Hanover Public Schools Closure Update 3/15/20

Thank you for your ongoing support as we continue to navigate this challenging and unprecedented situation.  Earlier this evening, Governor Baker announced that all schools in the state will be closed for three weeks starting on Tuesday.  For our school district, this is helpful as all communities are in the same boat and this will hopefully lead to consistent resource allocation for our schools and students.  Here in Hanover, we continue to work on plans to support our students and their families both academically and socially in the weeks ahead. There will be another update tomorrow evening.  We trust you understand that this situation is changing by the hour, and we are working with our Town officials and other support networks to bring you the most current information possible.

The Governor emphasized the importance of social distancing and limiting interaction between non-family members.  All of our children – including my own – are missing their friends; however, we all need to do whatever we can to keep everyone safe and to keep people apart.

The outpouring of kindness and support for each other the past few days has been overwhelming.  If we all stick together (from 6 feet apart), we will get through this.

Thank you again for your support and patience.

Sincerely,

Matt Ferron
Superintendent of Schools
