Celebrate a Senior 2021!

The Class of 2021 has navigated a challenging year with a tremendous amount of grace. Many of their special traditions and daily activities have been lost or modified, requiring students to create a new sense of normal in an abnormal time.  These students have worked hard in their classrooms and in the community to set an example of courage, resiliency, and perspective.  It is now our time to support their efforts and celebrate their success!  Celebrate a Senior is back! 

Hanover Public Schools and the Office of Family and Community Engagement is looking for 200 Hanover families (without a student in the class of 2021) to sponsor one of our graduates.  All that is required to be a sponsor is a $50 donation and a creative spirit to celebrate your senior!  As a sponsor, you will receive the name and address of a member of the HHS Class of 2021 - and then let the fun begin!

Timeline

Saturday, May 22^nd and Sunday, May 23^rd
Kick-off Celebrate a Senior by bringing Hanover spirit to the home of your graduate with balloons, flowers, driveway chalk messages, or any other decorations to commemorate the occasion.  A customized Class of 2021 lawn sign is included as part of your $50 donation to be used along with your unique decorations.  Create a community of celebration for all of our graduates and their families to enjoy!  Snap a photo of your creativity or a socially distanced selfie with your Senior and remember to tag #HanoverCelebrateASenior2021.

Monday, May 24^th and Tuesday, May 25^th
Please send your celebration photos to celebrateasenior@hanoverschools.org.  Your photos will be posted and shared with the community.

Wednesday, May 26^th through Friday, May 28^th
Deliver a Hanover Swag Bag to your graduate! Each bag includes a selection of Hanover “gear” including their first Hanover Alumni T-Shirt. Each bag is the same; however, you can personalize and add additional treats for the soon-to-be graduates as they enter the next chapter of their lives.

How To Participate?

To participate, please complete the sponsorship form below along with payment by Friday, May 14^th:

Sponsors will receive notification of their graduate's information by Monday, May 17^th. Every graduate will be recognized and celebrated! 

FAQ's

• Can I choose the senior I would like to sponsor?  You may request a specific senior to sponsor, however, your preference is not guaranteed.  To ensure equity and inclusion for all, graduates not specifically requested by name will be assigned randomly to sponsoring families.
• Are there any lower price-point options for sponsorship?  We recognize that these are financially challenging times.  Teaming up with a group of friends, neighbors, or family is a great way to sponsor a graduate.
• Can I make a donation without sponsoring a senior?  Yes!  We are happy to accept your donation and our team of volunteers will celebrate a senior in your honor.
