Why does the fire engine go with the ambulance on a medical call?

The Hanover Fire Department sends a fire engine and ambulance to medical emergencies to ensure that the public gets the most efficient, effective and appropriate response.

The majority of residences in Hanover consist of more than one floor or level. The engine crew is there to assist the ambulance crew in providing patient care, transporting the patient from the house to the ambulance and carrying supplies. We anticipate the worst and hope for the best when responding to any call.
