2021 Catch Basin Cleaning Program

Basin Cleaning

The Town of Hanover Department of Public Works will begin its annual Catch Basin Cleaning Program the week of April 19, 2021.

Catch basin cleaning includes the removal of trash and sediments collected in the sump using a clamshell bucket truck.  At this time, the Town also is able to assess the physical condition of our catch basins and identify repairs or defects that may need to be addressed at a future time.  This cleaning is essential to maintain our catch basins in an effort to prevent blockages and minimize the amount of pollutants entering storm drain system which may eventually discharge into local streams, wetlands, and waterways. Catch basin cleaning is also part of the Town’s on ongoing effort to fulfill the requirements of the EPA’s NPDES MS4 Stormwater Regulations. For more information please visit the Town’s Stormwater Management page or contact us at 781-826-3189.

As Town-maintained catch basins are cleaned this year, we will regularly be updating the map found below so that residents can follow the ongoing progress of this project.  Known Town-maintained catch basins that are scheduled to be cleaned this year are shown in grey.  Those that have already been cleaned this year are shown in green.
