Community Development and Municipal Inspections

  • The Board of Health Office is available for phone calls, faxes, copies, and delivery to customers/residents when needed in the parking lot. Phone: 781-826-5000 ext. 1077
  • Inspections - Septic: outside inspection for septic systems and Perc. Tests are available; Food: Emergency calls; Mobile Food: Yes; Tobacco: No; Pools: No
  • Building Department - We continue to process online permits; We will perform all outdoor inspections as we would normally; We will perform all commercial inspections as we would normally (new construction); We will inspect all new residential dwellings and additions as we would normally not including remodels; We are not going into private occupied residences unless there is an emergency; We are accepting video and or pictures of small projects to show compliance and allow the project to keep moving; We are accepting engineers field reports on commercial controlled construction projects; We will try and handle all scheduled face to face meetings over the phone instead or reschedule, if necessary. Phone: 781-826-5000 ext. 1078
  • Conservation - We continue to service the public through electronic means as necessary; All site inspections will continue with social distancing at all sites and other precautions as recommended by the CDC; The Conservation Commission’s next meeting of April 1, 2020 has been cancelled. A meeting will be posted for Wednesday, April 22, 2020, in hopes that the current circumstances improve. All applications can still be submitted now if ready, or by maintaining the normal two week deadline for NOI’s, ANRAD’s, and RDA’s for the April 22, 2020 meeting; In addition, we are asking at this time that applications and all supporting documents be submitted electronically to sandra.macfarlane@hanover-ma.gov; please copy Derek Vozzella, derek.vozzella@hanover-ma.gov, on the message; As a reminder, Minor Activities Permits for safety issues, such as storm damaged trees, or failed septic systems and similar, are still available through the Conservation Office and do not require a public hearing for issuance.
