Trail Team

Trail Team FlyerHanover has some of the most amazing trails in Massachusetts! Volunteer and do your part to help maintain these natural wonders for all to enjoy!

The establishment of the 1st ever official “Hanover Trail Team” is now underway! We are excited to offer to residents and non-residents alike, an opportunity to be out in nature and help keep our public trails in great shape so that everyone can enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds them.

This group of volunteers, either individually or within a group, will work on trail maintenance throughout the year. They will do so with simple handwork or small hand tools. For safety reasons, any situation that requires more substantial tools or equipment will be coordinated through the Conservation Agent, the Team Leader, and with other town departments as required, such as the Department of Public works.

There is no set schedule or amount of hours required. However, it is expected that activities will be scheduled during times when the trails are officially open (dawn to dusk). The Team Leader will be chosen from those that volunteer for a year or more commitment to the group. It is anticipated that the Team Leader will coordinate volunteers for initial site walks and trail introductions, group meetings, and determine priority areas for attention. The team leader will work under the guidance of the Conservation Agent.
