Under the guidelines of The Education Reform Act of 1993, public schools must organize a school council to develop annual School Improvement Plans. A school council is a representative, school building-based committee comprised of an administrator, parent representatives, teacher representatives, community representatives, and, at the secondary level, students.
At Hanover Public Schools, we believe that students, parents, and our building-based teachers and administration make the best schools by being partners in planning, leadership, and development. With the exception of the community-at-large member who is appointed by the principal, the council members are elected and serve for a two-year term. The public is invited to attend all meetings. This is a great opportunity for parents, teachers, and community members to enhance their involvement in decisions and initiatives
Meetings are held at the Cedar School building, located at 265 Cedar Street, Hanover, MA 02339. Any resident wishing to address the council should contact the Cedar School office by the Friday prior to the meeting. Please provide your name and an overview of the subject matter you wish to discuss
