Mission



The Hanover Visiting Nurse Association is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our community by providing compassionate, caring and accessible
health care.  Established in 1929, the Hanover VNA has been a vital part of our community.  We are a non-profit agency, dedicated to the prevention of disease and the care of the sick in Hanover.
 

 

 

Services Offered


 

Registered Nurses: Available in the home after hospitalization or as needed when ordered by your physician. Also available as a community service for medication teaching and health counseling in the home or at the VNA office.

Contracted Services: Arrangements coordinated by the VNA for Home Health Aides, Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists.

Office Visits:
Registered nurses are available for treatments, instructions or injections as ordered by your physician.
 

 

 

Health Promotion Services


 

Hanover Blood Pressure Clinics:

- First Wednesday of month, Cushing Residence, 1:30 - 2:30 P.M.
- Second Wednesday of month, Legion, 1:30 - 2:30 P.M.
- Last Wednesday of month, COA, 12 - 1:00 P.M.
- Third Friday of month, Nurse's Office, 1:30 - 2:30 P.M.

Cholesterol Screening: Call for appointment. Cholesterol, Triglycerides, LDL and HDL
testing. $10 donation for Hanover residents. Non-residents, $15.

Diabetic Screening: Last Friday of the month from 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M. at the VNA
office. Appointments needed. Alternate days available upon request.

Mantoux Testing: For Tuberculosis. Call for appointment.

Pneumonia, Tetanus and Flu Clinics: Held yearly

Camperships and Scholarships: Awarded yearly

Lead Testing: Offered by request

Agency Hours: 8 A.M. - 4:00 P.M Monday through Friday. Services are available when

Frequently Asked Questions


 

"How Do I Have the Nurse Visit Me at Home?"

- Have your doctor call the VNA with specific orders for the care that you will need.

- If you are in the hospital, inform the discharge planner that you are a resident of Hanover and that you would like the Hanover VNA to care for you when you go home.

- If you feel that you would like a nurse to come and check on you or one of your loved ones, call the VNA at 826-4971.

"The Last Time I Was In the Hospital, I Was Told that Medicare Would Not Pay for the Nurse to Visit me if I chose Hanover VNA and that I Would Have to Pay for the Nurse Myself. Is that true?"

- We do not charge for services to Medicare eligible patients. Donations are always gratefully accepted by those wishing to do so.

"I was informed that Another Nursing Service Cares for Hanover Residents. Is that true?"

- There are many home care agencies throughout the South Shore which can care for any South Shore resident. Hanover VNA prides itself in its ability to provide quality nursing services to the residents of Hanover only. We are your community nursing service, the choice is yours. You are entitled to have whichever nursing agency you want to care for you in your home.
