The Town Moderator is most recognized for the role of running the Annual and Special Town Meetings. While this is a key function, the most important role is in the promotion of participation in government through the many permanent and temporary committees that are appointed by the Town Moderator.
I encourage you to look through the list and think about where your interests are best matched. If you are unsure if you have the time to volunteer for a committee, many of them certainly need helpers who can come to their meetings on an informal basis and assist with the work. Please don’t hesitate to fill in a contact note. I’d be happy to answer questions and help you find the best place to volunteer.
