Under the direction of
the Town Manager and the Board of Selectmen, the Personnel Administrator
provides personnel management and administrative support to Town departments in
areas such as the following:
- Compliance with various
State and Federal Employment Laws
- Hiring and Employment
practices
- The Fair Labor Standards
Act
- Minimum Wage Laws
- Working Time and Overtime
Compensation
- Child Labor Laws
- Family and Medical Leave
Act
- Sexual Harassment
- Discrimination
- Labor practices
- Americans with
Disabilities Act
- Title VII of the Civil
Rights Act of 1964
- Training and instruction
of Department Heads and/or Boards on policies and procedures as well as
personnel issues
- Open Meeting Law Seminars
- Ethics & Conflict of
Interest Seminars
- Job descriptions and
salary surveys
- Participates in
negotiations with various Town unions and provides consistent interpretation of
those contracts
- Addresses employee health
and safety issues
- Provides State with
required reports
