*Update- Water Main Break 1/16

There is a water main break at the intersection of Silver Street and Old Washington Street.  Water will be shut off from Old Washington Street to Jays Lane on Silver Street and on Old Washington Street from Silver Street to the 184 Old Washington Street; approximately 30 homes will be shut off to make this repair.  Thru traffic will be closed off in this area during the repair, please plan an alternate travel route for the remainder of the day and into the evening hours.  We thank you for your patience and understanding as we make this repair.

 

Water Main Break Update:

The DPW crews are still looking for the water main break at the intersection of Silver Street and Old Washington Street.  They were able to get the water shut off and continue to look for the break in pipe, but given the amount of frost in the ground they have not yet located it.  Water will be shut off from Old Washington Street to Jays Lane on Silver Street and on Old Washington Street from Rt. 53 to the 184 Old Washington Street; approximately 35 homes will be shut off to make this repair.  Thru traffic will be closed off in this area during the repair, please plan an alternate travel route during the evening hours.  We thank you for your patience and understanding as we make this repair.

Water Main Break Update:

The water main break at the intersection of Silver Street and Old Washington Street has been repaired. You may experience dirty water from dislodged sediments in the pipes. Should you experience this, we ask that you simply run cold water from your faucet for several minutes until it runs clear. If you continue to see discolored water, we ask that you to please notify the Hanover Communications Center at 781-826-2335 x 0 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. or notify the DPW directly at 781-826-3189 during normal business hours (between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.) and we will send someone out to inspect the issue and do any additional flushing of the system that may be required.
