Flags Half-Staff 4/6 for Senator and Astronaut John Glenn

Please be advised that Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has ordered that the United States flag and the Commonwealth flag be flown at half-staff at all state buildings today, Thursday, April 6, 2017 in accordance with a Presidential Proclamation and as a mark of respect for Senator and Astronaut John Glenn on the day of his interment.

This observance shall be concurrent with the ongoing half-staff display of the United States and Commonwealth flags in the Commonwealth in honor of Massachusetts State Senator Kenneth J. Donnelly, Fourth Middlesex district, of Arlington, MA who passed away on April 2, 2017.

Updated instructions regarding the date of interment of Senator Donnelly will be provided at a later date.

This gubernatorial order applies to:

1.  The main or administration building of each public institution of the Commonwealth, e.g. town and city halls

2.  Other state-owned or state-controlled buildings

3.  All state military installations
