Fire Pump Test 9/7

The fire pump for 285 Circuit Street will be tested on September 7, 2017 at approximately 12:30 p.m.  Fire pumps are used to ensure an adequate water supply by increasing pressure for fire suppression and, as such, are an integral part of the fire protection system for a facility.  To ensure that a fire or booster pump is working, there needs to be periodic inspection, maintenance and testing of the pump.  During this test, residents may experience a drop in water pressure and/or dirty water from dislodged sediments in the pipes.  Should you experience this, we ask that you simply run cold water from your faucet for several minutes until it runs clear.  If you continue to see discolored water, we ask that you call the Water Department at 781-826-3189, and we will send someone out to inspect the issue and do any additional flushing of the system that may be required.
